The elements at the core of Ivan's work are the organic structures and the often sublime spaces of the coastal environment where he explores its physical and charged states through loose and bold painting informed by a combination of walks, photography, memory and presence.

He holds a Degree in Printmaking from Limerick School of Art & Design. After a brief time with Limerick Printmakers and years working in the computer industry, he re-orientated his practice towards painting.

Ivan grew up in Ballinroad, Dungarvan and his work forms part of national and international collections.

He has exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy and Royal Ulster Academy annual exhibitions, and throughout Ireland, the UK and in Singapore. Daly was a contestant in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2015. His 2018 exhibition in Joan Clancy Gallery was a great success as was his 2017 show in the Triskel Arts Centre, Cork.
