Tadhg Ó Cuirrín
Tadhg Ó Cuirrín graduated from Limerick School of Art & Design with a BA (Honours) in Fine Art in 2009. He received the Hunt Museum Group Painting Exhibition 1st Purchase Prize in 2008.
He had a solo exhibition in Massimo's Limerick and is currently in Galway Arts Centre and Tuam Arts Festival, his work , he says "is based on the modern world’s fascination with youth
and sexuality, violence and love, solitude and the spirit, represented from a standpoint of urban masculinity. The colours prominent in my work are ones found in the night time city landscape.
Deep dark shadowy blues and purples contrasted against the orange of street lights, the harsh kaleidoscope of night club lights and the soft purples, pinks and oranges of sunrise and sunset".
