Born in France in 1975, spending half of his childhood between St-Malo in Brittany and the town of St-Simon in the Charentes area. He moved to Co Clare in 1998. Self taught, he was initiated to drawing and painting at a young age from both his mother and grandfather. Mostly taking from areas he is very familiar with -surfing and Irish Music, Olivier's current work grew out of the desire to use simple shapes to represent the complex stances of bodies in action, directly reflecting his love for the French tradition of comic strips and cartoons. Complemented by vivid colors and sharp contrasts, the paintings appear to be very much in movement.
