Marianne Cullen
I get inspiration from the landscape that served as a backdrop to most of my childhood experiences. I find emotional resonances in this landscape. The feeling of a place is more important to me
than representational interpretation. Recently I have been painting in oils on metal. The resultant paintings seem to have an extra luminosity and vividness, which serves the purpose of creating
images that are sharp and intense.
Marianne received a BA in Fine Art from Gorey School of Art. She has had solo shows in Watergate Theatre Kilkenny and in The Signal Arts Centre Bray; she exhibits in venues around the East and
South East including The Leinster Gallery Dublin. Her work forms part of the OPW, Corporate and private collections.
