Leah Murphy
Leah Murphy graduated from Crawford College of Art & Design with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art Painting in 1997. An admirer of Picasso, Basquait, Susan Rothenberg, Robert Rauschenberg and other American painters of the 60's and 70's, her work is steadily gaining the important professional accolades it deserves, and is featured in Peter Jordan's tome Waterford Municipal Art Collection.
She regularly exhibits around Ireland and in Joan Clancy Gallery. In 2014
she featured in a group show in Greyfriars Municipal Gallery, Waterford, and shared a dual exhibition with Deirdre Dunne in the Ballymaloe Grainstore in East Cork.
Her work forms part of corporate and civic collections including Waterford Municipal Art Collection, Ryan Hotel Group Killarney, and is held in private collections in Ireland, Italy and US.
Her current series of square canvases "offer multiple views on to a scene, a personal view or anecdote, forming a visual narrative" explains this Gaeltacht artist.
