Kieran Heffernan is an Irish landscape artist, illustrator, and historian deeply connected to County Waterford.

He specializes in oil and landscape painting, frequently capturing the scenic beauty, water, and changing light, as in Night Flight at Whiting Bay.

During the 1980s, Heffernan regularly illustrated the front covers of the popular national magazine, Ireland's Own. He co-authored and illustrated the comprehensive local history book, “The History of Strancally Castle and the Valley of the Blackwater between Lismore and Youghal” (published in 2000) alongside Friedrich Billensteiner. He has partnered with local artist Andrea Jameson on projects dedicated to visually recording and preserving the scenery, landmarks, and folklore of the Blackwater Valley.

Before focusing more fully on his art, Heffernan served as CEO of Co Waterford VEC.
