Gillian Wright born in Co Waterford in 1972, her natural talent for drawing and sketching was recognised by Arthur Maderson who encouraged her to also work with oils.
Her serene classic lines and compositions capture timeless themes and the stories behind them.
"My inspiration stems from a love of the process of the play of light on people, animals and ordinary objects" she explains.
She studied at Winchester School of Art and at Montclair Art Museum and Ridgewood Art Institute both in New Jersey.
Her work forms part of important collections. She has exhibited in Montclair Art Museum, The Old Market Arts Centre Dungarvan and now for the first time in Joan Clancy Gallery.
