Joan Clancy Gallery are currently hosting Idir Eatharthu - Between Two Worlds, an exhibition of paintings by Janet Pierce.
An elected member of the Aosdana, she is represented in Dublin by Taylor Galleries, and currently has work in 2004 Art for Amnesty, The Work of Ireland's Top One Hundred Artists in IMMA.
Pierce has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland, the UK, USA and beyond. Her work is included in several public, private and corporate collections including AIB, Wang Computers, Smurfit Group, Arts Council of Ireland, and the OPW, and has proved to be a shrewd investement.
Idir Eatharthu was opened by Waterford County Manager Donal Connolly, and by the singing of Maighread Ní Dhonmnaill, Ann Mulqueen and Joan Clancy. It was a very special June evening set amidst the backdrop of Janet's paintings, and Dungarvan Bay and the Comeragh and Knockmealdown mountains in the backround. After the show the singing continued in Mooney's Pub. Janet Pierce has just exhibited with Irish Arts for Amnesty the Work of Ireland's Top 100 Living Artists in IMMA, which chuffs Joan Clancy and muintir na Rinne.
Janet Pierce's next Gaeltacht exhibitions will take place in An Gallearí, Falcarragh, Letterkenny, Donegal in October 2004, An Tobar, Tobermory, Isle of Mull, Scotland 2005, and Taigh Chearsabhugh, Lochmaddy, N. Uist, Scotland 2005.
