Emmet Brickley
Emmet Brickley graduated with an Honours Degree in Fine Art from CIT Crawford College of Art & Design 2016 and is the recipient of several awards.
"My practice explores the notions of solitude as a concept only possible within the presence of a society" he explains of his work.
"By studying the readily available archives of urban landscapes online, reference materials are sourced by using Google Street View. This mode of collecting imagery to create personal documentation
assists my interests in the impact of the digital age in our society; particularly its concerns with cultural homogenisation.
"A variety of painting processes are used to avoid pure representation. Blurring imagery with static layering of paint, I intend to encourage debate over the depiction of critical space".
