Edel Wilson
Edel Wilson's Untitled (Oil on canvas 102X76cm) evokes the entrancement experienced in some private moments and situations.
As the poet Patrick Kavanagh said "Through a chink too wide comes in no wonder". "My inspiration comes from mixing colours and symbols associated with past feelings, with
images of people with whom I have a connection" she explains. "My current work is built out of personal experiences, I'm exploring what the nude figure means to me having
grown up in a strict catholic upbringing where the naked form is looked upon as shameful, and attempting to convey this to the viewers, the patterns I use are also personal to me."
Edel graduated from CIT CCAD with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art 2009. Mark Ryden describing the nude said "we are creatures of pure energy and meat is the element that keeps us here."
