Catherine Foley, born in Waterford city, has lived in the Gaeltacht of An Rinn for most of her life. She is a writer, a broadcaster and a former staff member of the Irish Times. Increasingly, she has used her paintings to enhance or amplify her work, such as her most recently published collection of bilingual poems from Arlen House in 2023, Amhrán Sráidbhaile/Village Song, which features twenty of her paintings.
